Hannah King
Hannah’s music journey started at the age of 6 when her mom signed her up for fiddle lessons in a small Montana town. She quickly fell in love with the fiddle after hearing bands like George Strait & Ace in the Hole and Alison Krauss & Union Station for the first time. She spent her formative years studying Texas Style fiddling and playing in competitions throughout the country, eventually winning multiple Montana State and regional titles and becoming the 2014 National Young Adult champion–something she had always dreamed of accomplishing.
“After years of competitive music, I just had this deep desire to experience music more through creativity and self-expression. Writing my own music became a way of processing life and, I hope, helping others to as well”, says King. In November of 2020 she released her first all-original, self-titled EP….A toe-tapping, heart-melting blend of Western Swing, Bluegrass, and Country sounds with a lot of fiddle, of course. Honest lyrics paired with her angelic voice makes for easy yet engaging listening.
A few months after her first EP, she released its follow-up: Hannah King Part 2, which she showcased at the 2021 Under the Big Sky Festival. Both EPs feature players such as 15x Grammy winner Barry Bales (Alison Krauss), CMA musician of the year Jenee Fleenor (Blake Shelton), Scotty Wilbanks (Luke Bryan, Third Day), Travis Toy (Rascal Flatts), Josh Swift (The Isaacs, Lyle Lovett), Matt McDaniel (Brent Cobb), Jason Hoard (Mac Powell) and others.
